Chandra Irvin is the Executive Director of the Center for Peace and Spiritual Renewal at Spalding University. There, she leads the University and supports the City of Louisville in developing and applying restorative and spiritual practices that promote racial equity, healing, justice, and peace in individual and community relations. She serves as strategist, facilitator, and master consultant in leveraging Polarities, and building relations between residents and police. As co-strategist and facilitator with the City of Charleston SC in the wake of the 2015 Emmanuel shooting, her richly cultivated understanding and respect for shared humanity, deep listening, and collective action echoed throughout the process.
For over 25 years, Chandra has served as President of Irvin, Goforth & Irvin LLC, helping individuals and organizations across the U.S. and abroad: clarify their purpose; surmount chronic difficulties; resolve conflicts; and build meaningful relations across diverse groups. As a Fielding Lewis Walker Fellow, her life and work frequently draws on the transformative and timeless wisdom of mystic, theologian, prophet and community builder, Howard Thurman. She is an ICF certified life coach who has written and contributed to several books and articles related to peace, human relations, and leveraging polarities for greater good.
Chandra and her husband Nat live in Louisville, KY. They have three adult children—Trey (Jane), Jovian (George), and Roman, and a new granddaughter, Jorgie. They enjoy family, travel, sports, gardening, and occasionally kayaking.
